After picking up, there was a few seconds silence and automated female voice said "Goodbye" and hang up.
Female voice claiming to be from Nationwide BS, but when questioned why they where calling from a mobile number, hung up!
I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Re The failed bank payment, the bank itself stopped this money and when I spoke to my bank it was decided that the £149 seemed high for an anti viral program and there was a possibility of fraud. When I answered it was a foreign man talking who I couldn t understand then I also received a text message from the same number saying I had to contact Avon straight away they knew my representative number as it was quoted but I didn t answer and blocked the number from contacting me

Said they were Mcafee support, handling issue relating to our home "network" which would mean all devices using network (he meant router) would shortly become infected and stop working. Wanted £200 to fix, as our Mcafee didn't cover "network". Said we'd call back and given this number. Subsequently checked with Currys who support some of our tech who confirmed it's a scam

They said they were fraud team and wanted my NI number, if i didnt press one i could be in trouble and lose any assets that i have. I just hung up
