Got a call yesterday saying it was from HSBC and asuspicipus transaction was being made from my account. I rang HSBC his morning and said they did not make a call yesterday so it was a scammer and said they would never ask for your bank details over the phone. NEVER your personal details hang up and ring your bank to get it checked.

There was a long delay in answering after I picked up and a crackly line suggesting this had been re-routed to an international call, the voice was not a native English speaker, possibly Asian but can't recall what he said. I just hung up.

Says he's calling from British Gas asks for account details so I said call later and I called up British Gas myself and they said that they would never call me from a mobile number or ask to do anything like they have
The number is too short to be identifiable. It needs 11 digits to be a valid UK number.
They are a gang ho bunch who have been tied up in court before, or may currently still be. They are an absolute nuisance and almost impossible to get rid of. Their services are a rip off as these can be done by any individual. Thay also pretend to represent Moneysavingexpert.
