I contacted EON and they confirmed that was not anything wrong with the meter and they did not know why I had had that call. Reply

Male caller rang from this number at lunchtime today. A bit of a waffle introduction, but eventually got round to the subject - an invitation to a free financial seminar (apparently people are really interested in it because of low interest rates). But he declined any request to put his information pack in the post to me. Pretty sure its a scam that should be avoided.
Said that they were from Sky calling about my broadband speed. Told that I wasn’t with Sky and they immediately hung up, no apology for the call

Called my mobile and asked for me by name. Claimed to be from Nationwide Building Society and started trying to confirm my postcode. When I asked to be told why they were calling first they hung up. I suspect this to be a scam.

Told them I wasn t interested, didn t have a call for a week or so and now they re off again! This is definately NOT RAC because I ve checked the number with them! They have clled us several times on our TPS registered number asking to speak to a certain member of staff who no longer works in this department. They ve been told this every time but are apparently too stupid to understand.
This number called me from somewhere near Preston. I don’t know anyone there. They rang off after a couple of rings, not giving me a chance to answer. Possible spam/scam.
