Called a few times, I picked up on the 3rd time because I've never had a strange number call so much. Said they were from my provider and wanted to thank me for my loyalty but also wanted me to confirm several details about myself so he could tell me about some special offers. I saw no reason to answer him as I didn't want a new phone, nor was I sure he was even legitimate.
Had a request re government insulation recently fitted - this is not the case & declared they called the wrong number - clearly a scam as had no name for me either.
After a pause the called asked for "Mr Gay". When I said he was not on this number and asked who was calling they hung up. I tried to ring back but got the unobtainable tone.

I dialed this number with and without area code but "the number you have dialed has not been recognised" What is BT playing at allowing unregistered numbers to call. I hold them responsible. Should the police not be involved.

I agree with other comments. They had my name and address (when they should not have). I was stupid enough to confirm this. they ask you do you have a car, make/brand of car, and other products you may own. and some other lifestyle choice questions. I started saying "no comment" to every question and 5 questions later they hung up on me.
