Automated message advised that I was suspected of tax fraud and that if I didn't press 1 I would be arrested shortly. Scammers - obviously intending to shock people into a response. Please be aware that HM Customs and Revenue would not operate in this manner.

This number continually calls claiming to be Scottish Power, who want payment for a final bill. Every call quotes a different figure due. At no point can they tell you the address to which this scam is referring to, but the do try to get you to confirm your address to them. The become agitated and aggressive once they realise that you know it is a scam.

I've just kept one of their team talking for 12 minutes, saving others from being called by this scam! They claim to be "Road Traffic Management" and that they can get you additional compensation for a RTA you've had. A chap called Chris phoned, stating to be from The Green Eco Company. After introducing himself he then launched into a barrage of questions about my age group, what type of loft insulation I had, how was the loft accessed, etc, etc. He then went on to state that because of my age I was eligible for a free loft inspection, which normally cost £65.00. Blatently obvious that this was a cold call from a private company so declined his offer, hung up & blocked the number.
