Just been called by this number, I never direct anyone to this phone so it was a random spam call

28 Nov. 2022 (17:33) a chap with Indian accent called me claiming to be from BT to say that my computer may have been compromised and that he could check that for me if I switched it on and he ran a quick check. Complete nonsense of course and an attempted scam. He said he was calling from London but the area code is Falkirk (Scotland).

Smooth talking guy, asked for me by name. Wanted to talk to me regards my BT bill. I asked him what the problem was. He said no problem, I am your BT agent and could do a better deal. I said to him "but you aren't BT are you" and he told me he was authorised, had a number etc etc. Didn't seem too pleased when I said to him "You are not BT you are JTalk and hung up. Rang back but I let it ring out. Don't need to do business with a liar.
Scam caller claiming to be from Virgin. The call was made by an official sounding call centre (the woman sounded Indian). She claimed that there has been suspicious activity from unknown IP addresses using my account and that it was being used for criminal activity and that she needed to help me protect my firewalls etc. I immediately became suspicious as I'd heard of such calls being made and told her that I'd call Virgin directly to resolve any issues. Is this a scam?? "John" asked the question "Do you still have your driveway?". I asked why he wanted to know and he then thanked me for my time and hung up!!!!
Text from this number telling me this was the second and final attempt to contact me. that I had won the April draw and please click the link. No idea what the April Draw is, and will not be clicking the link! It could potentially be dangerous.
Said they were from BT and phoning about my Internet. When I said I didn't have Internet with them they called me a 'funking liar'.
