Called with a thick asian accent claiming to be Janet from Virgin and calling about an issue with the router. They asked me to tell them the colour on the router and then input a web address. I guessed immediately that this was a scam but decided to lead them on a little. After a couple of minutes 'Janet' realised that I knew this was a scam and launched into a tirade of verbal abuse swearing and threatening to come and stab me before then hanging up!

Said, "Not trying to sell you anything", then asked how I get my TV service e.g. Sky, Virgin, Freeview etc. I told him I don t do surveys, then he rang off.
Some called offering to get rid of cold call, automated calls basically every type of call you don t want. For a small fee of ?1.90 per month, they would provide a box to stop the calls. Is it me or shouldn t BT be doing this for free

The people on the other end of this phone have confirmed by letter they are delivering me a phone on 23rd August 2012 and that my current phone will be switched off on 26th. I am now receiving phone calls telling me I am entitled to a free upgrade and cheaper phone rate. Have had 4 phone calls this morning. 3 went dead when picked up. 1 was answer machine message about subscription to amazon and asked me to press 1 to cancel and 2 to discuss options. I put the phone down. Has anyone else had these calls?
Automated voice message claimed my National Insurance number had been linked to illegal activity and told me to press 1 to speak to an officer to avoid imminent action. Obviously I didn't.

This number keeps on ringing me. The first time I got a call from this number I had my phone on silent as I was at work. When I tried to ring them back it says that it is not a valid number. I have not answered this number since I have no idea who they are and why I cannot call them back. Seems very suspicious to me. If you get one I would advise you do not answer.
It's a spam number sending the text message on your phone about your delivery has been redirected to your local branch due to an unpaid shipping fee.
