My wife entered a competition on Heart FM where charges stated £1.00 plus your standard network rate. She then received over 200 texts from this number and £150.00 addition on our phone bill. I m still fighting this now

I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Re The failed bank payment, the bank itself stopped this money and when I spoke to my bank it was decided that the £149 seemed high for an anti viral program and there was a possibility of fraud. 02036109310 SCAM I believe, Claimed to be Edward from virgin media about my firewall protection...was very keen to want to send me something on my mobile. He was momentarily interested in sending it to my laptop until I told him it was a work issued laptop. Told him my phone was not internet connected as I found it to distracting and he hung up without a goodbye.I suspect the thought of a work issued laptop put him off as it would have good security and catch the rogue link he wanted to send me?

Fraud - Smarmy British guy claimed to be a 'local energy adviser', and said "How are you today? I said "I'm sick of unsolicited calls. Please take my number off your list and don't call again", then hung up. Another person reports on a different website that same number rang them this morning too, but claiming to be a 'local' loft insulation company, yet it's a Bournemouth code and they don't live there! BEWARE! Obviously a scam of some kind. Happened 11.25am on 9th November 2021.
