Told him that I'm registered with the telephone preference service and put the phone down. I've since had four more calls within 5 minutes of the original call.

To which the caller became very irate and asked for further info, I put the phone down and actually phoned Barclays customer service who confirmed this number does not belong to any barclaycard department!
