I have just received a call from a female withe an Indian accent. She claimed to be representing someone who was involved in an accident with me. I said I remembered no accident (I haven t had one!). She said, are you sure? I asked what is my registration? She said she was not allowed to say. I asked her what was my name? She said "sorry to trouble you" and put the phone down as I accused her of being a scam.

No one answered when the phone was picked up
I was called from this number and the caller was very insistent / pushy about the fact that I MUST be owed PPI compensation otherwise they would not be calling. They required bank / credit card details and when I said I had already received compensation from my bank, the call was terminated by them without explanation.
Rang about PPI, I didn't say anything, the voice at the other end sounded very automated.

silent call from this number. web search indicates its a scam caller named matthew calling about loft insulation with over 200 complaints in last couple of days. reported to Ofcom, TPS and Info commissioners office.

Caller asked to speak to person who wasn t in. Told to phone again after 6pm (4 hours away). Received 2 further calls from this number within 30 minutes of original call so caller obviously doesn t listen.
I note that this number has been cloned and this number showed up today and was Talk Talk (so they said) and I had problems with my router. I blocked so they called on another number a few hours later.

SCAM, I didn't let them continue far before hanging up on them, asking me about my interest in the stock market. Wouldn't believe that I hadn't registered with them, wouldn't give me their company name or details when I asked who had called me. Persisted even after I told them to remove my details.

Called both my landline and my mobile on a Sunday evening. Clearly a Birmingham number. I know the university does fundraising drives amongst alumni but these calls stress not just a nuisance but very intrusive. I understand the Uni says it wants to improve the lot of students but given the vast fees students have to pay that really do not equate to what they are provided with, I think it's a joke, not to say insulting, chasing alumni for money in this devious manner. This number was a representative from a Greenpeace call agency. I checked with Greenpeace to validate this call and they confirmed it. They were asking for a direct debit payment after acquiring my number from a petition I signed. The service was friendly and informative and not malicious unless you don't like charity pressure calling.
