SCAM - pretend to be Airbnb wanting a confirmation payment working as part of a group advertising false flats via Facebook marketplace for rent to be booked through Airbnb for a couple of months before going onto a rental agreement with the ‘host’ - once money is paid they say that someone from air bnb will be in touch to hand over keys and sign agreements etc but never hear from them again.

I answered today and said the same thing - so checked what information they had on my address etc, and have the correct address, have asked for the information, and will check it out when I receive it. I asked where they had obtained my information from and he said from an online form I had completed, and as I have recently, this would seem feasible, as the databases are available to purchase in the telemarketing world. A man claimed he was from a company called "Speed" who rudely demand to know why I hadn t made a claim for the accident I d apparently been in. The last accident I d been involved in was a few years ago and upon hearing me start to explain this he hung up before I finished speaking. This is clearly a scam hoping to either get some personal details to allow them to commit identity fraud or to falsely extract money from me.

Called themselves Low Cost Home Improvements. They have previously phoned using other numbers and other trading names. Selling home improvements apparently. I instructed them, as I have on all previous occasions, to delete my illegally held contact details. They said they would, but based on past experience they won't.
Sounds like a phishing cost trap to me. Not that I m going to call to find out.
TAXES / HMRC scam. Recorded voice threatens arrest if you don’t press 1 to be connected to them. Obviously a scam and potentially dangerous to any vulnerable people.

just got 2 text messages after trying to use my card to pay for a transaction with a store declined for no reason. the 1st text said it was RBS and to expect a second text from this number asking to verify transactions just as others on here have said. Deleted it.

Broad Indian accent, difficult to understand but the general gist I got was he wanted my details so he can save me 30-40% off my bill. Had to press for details on what bill he was saving me money on, he stammered and, almost like he was guessing, said my O2 mobile phone bill. Nobody in this house has any O2 devices so be safe - don't give these scumbags any details. Block the number, maybe work out some of your anger by screaming abuse at them as I did.
