Got a call today from some guy asking for me by name (which I didn t acknowledge - I never do.) I immediately asked who was calling to throw him off his spiel, unfortunately he mumbled his "company" which sounded like s&l legal? and immediately launched into his sales patter regarding the mis-selling of PPI. I let him ramble on for a few then interrupted him by saying I worked in the banking industry and could run rings round him with regards this. The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Very unprofessional scammer claiming to be an accident insurance company. Then claimed to be the manager and attempted to sexually harass when the script wasn t followed.

NEVER call unknown numbers back. If you do so, you may be calling a Premium Rate or International number which will incur a very large charge on your bill.

They called and left a message which was incoherent. I just heard background noise.

Frequent calls, rings two to three times then rings off. When I answer there is no one there. When I called the number I got an automated response from Amnesty International. Not a scam but very irritating.

Caller hung up when answered. Don t know anyone in Keighley.

TJ, harassment laws apply after only TWO calls. Thus there are grounds to apply the Protection from Harassment Act of 1997 in this case.

In response to your comment Tony M please dont be so rude as to imply others are uneducated this number is a pain in the arse. They are now ringing my husbands mobile using one of their other numbers 0161 826 5780 all times of day they dont answer you when you pick it up there is always a voicemail message directing you to hold for their accounts dept and they DENY they are workin for Orange when you do get through so check your facts are correct before making rude assumptions about others.
