Sales call / this is a call from SD of Verkada Limited - a tech company selling security cameras etc. It will likely be related to an email whereby it is suggested he will be "in your area" next week. Of course he doesn't know where you are and in the absence of matter-transportation will not be there. It's an unsolicited sales call and not very clever. Best avoid firms like this where they start with a lie.

Automated call telling me £1000 had been taken from my account for a gambling site in the USA. It then followed saying £300 had been taken to pay Amazon. Neither of these things have happened. It asked to press 1 or 3 as a follow up.

Received a call from this number.. recorded message of woman’s voice saying it was from Bank security.. That my bank had a request from Amazon for £200+ and bank transfer for £700+ and to cancel press a digit. This number came up as 2 sets of numbers, one was a long number, and another this one I am reporting below it(that is what alerted me) when ringing. 07401878848 is a mobile phone number at an indian call centre, i traced it back through the network. Someone pretending to be from amazon stating that my details have been used to order some high value items and that to cancel it i would have to do as they instructed. They wanted remote access to my computer/tablet/phone so they could steal my data. The idiots didn't realise that they had phoned an it company. when i informed them of their mistake they hung up.
Claimed to be from UPS International asking me to select language, then went into Chinese. Eventually hung up!

Claims to be calling from Virgin Media, when challenged (I'm on TPS, I'm not in a Virgin cable area, etc) they hang up. Same outfit call three or four times a day, always from a different spoofed number.
It is an automatic voice that claims to be from "your bank" saying it has suspicious activity - asking you to click a button to verify or speak to someone. I hung up. Known scam 0845 and 0843 numbers call for a second or two. They rely on you to call back as the number looks official. You are then played a recorded message that is designed to keep you on the line as the call is charged at over a £1 per minute. So you end up paying for the scam and your phone company probably won't help as you made the call willingly.
