There is a very strange person... man or woman I’m not sure. They are parading on the dating site Plenty of Fish as a man called Joel, aged 59 (whilst the pictures are clearly of a younger man) who is meant to have a graduate degree and be an engineer working in London. My mother-in-law has just found a charge for ?99.99 on her Barclays statement. I ve just spoken to the bank and they have been 100% helpful and have agreed to refund her ASAP. When mum-in-law initialy went into the bank to query the transaction they told her that it was a holiday company and assisted her to call them. The company told her that they take the view that unless you specifically say otherwise they assume that you want thier services, even though the in-laws had no knowledge of the company. T

Claimed to be a county court enforcement officer wanted me to make a BACS transfer over the telephone for a debt that was disputed years ago. Was very convincing but it is a scam. Genuine High Court Enforcement Officers (HCEOs) and Certificated Enforcement Agents (CEAs) would never ask for sort code or account number over the telephone.

got a text from this number saying my account with Natwest has been locked, I am not with Natwest and it also links to a website. the website it links to domain was created 17 hours ago with a low traffic volume a bit weird for Natwest. Don't you think? I would avoid this link and if you are really worried call up Natwest on their official number.

Yes this is HSBC. I have an account with them and this was my LOCAL branch calling to make sure I was aware of changes and to ensure I was using the acc correctly. Very pleasant lady and took 5mins of my time. No problem to report.
