Repeated calls yesterday. Told to stop and then two calls so far today, one at 07:30.Said they were from the telephone preference service. What a joke!!
This caller professed to be calling from PayPal and asking me to verify details by entering a 6 digit code which had been generated by Microsoft - she was asking me to authenticate and change my email account with Microsoft to gain access.

Did click on the link which was very stupid , ( I was expecting the parcel ) but nothing happened and no other details from me were asked . It was just a blank page. Fraud! Automated message claiming the legal proceeding has started "due to Tax Evasion" and an arrest warrant has been issued. This was so obviously fraud, that I laughed at it. However this could be extremely dangerous for, say, a beginner business owner or self-employed person who are not 100% confident that they had submitted all the right forms etc (without malicious intent).
Calls at all hours and no response if you answer. Asking about pension pots etc. SCAM. Block this number!!!!!

Picked up call when visiting my very elderly mother. They knew her name but little more. They asked to speak to her but would not say who they were, but said it was important. I said I would not continue if they would not identify themselves @nd they terminated call. Asian man was calling. Don?t think they targeted her because of her age. Just told her to be careful , which fortunately she is

When I said I had no connection to Carphone Warehouse, she said this was a promotion call about some Samsung mobile. I doubted whether it was from Carphone Warehouse. Anyway, I said I was perfectly happy with my Nokia phone and hung up.
