I have now tracked them down and the number belongs to a supposedly reputable charity fundraising organisation. I say supposedly reputable since no genuinely reputable company would make such a nuisance of themselves, especially on TPS registered numbers. Purported to be Virgin Media reviewing your account to provide the best possible service. They fail on DPA/GDPR as don't seem to understand the principles of validating they are speaking to the account holder. They don't have access to account information such as account numbers, billing area codes etc.

Unsolicited call from 02031265384 02092021. Possible scammers or criminal organisation based in India. Do not pick up as it will be to steal ur bank details! Location says Trafalgar Square London but possible rerouted there from Indian scam call centres. Each time I order from Amazon I have scammers try to steal my cash! Reported to Amazon they did nothing at all! BEWARE

This is the second call in as many days from what appears to be a valid UK phone number but is most likely a cold caller masking their own number/ID and falsely making the call look like it's a UK number. I rang back the 'UK' number that phoned us the day before and it was a private individual living in Worcestershire. Neither she nor her husband had made the call. The Call Guardian phone has been worth its weight in gold as it deters 99% of cold callers - those that announce their names are then blocked
