At 8.20am I answered my land line thinking it must be important and was a local number. It was a automated message saying ‘thank you for your payment of £299 for anti virus, if any problems please call our free phone number’ The number I’m afraid I didn’t get and it didn’t say any company either. I’m sure this is a scam of some sort that they catch you when you call to complain so very much aimed at the trusting, naive or elderly.

SPAM / scam Sounded like a call centre, possibly Indian accent, but very muffled. They hung up a few seconds after I answered. Before 9 am on a Saturday morning. Unlikely to be in Abingdon.

Automated call from Beneficial. Keep calling me from various numbers of a similar type. Trying to sell me life insurance, have asked them to stop calling and remove my number from their lists, but still they persist. Blocked all numbers from them thus far, but they keep using new ones ????

2 weeks ago I answered and a lady with very little knowledge in englsih talked to me. She could not say the company name or anything. I told her to delete my cell phone number completely and said I wasn t interested at all in anything she could say. Despite this that number has called me in average 2-3 times a day... for 2 weeks.. As there is no company name to be told - I suspect they re nothing but hackers.. But can t say for sure.

21 Oct 2021 - This call left a message stating my National Insurance number was under fraud investigation and would be blocked and any assets frozen unless I press 1 and speak to an advisor. My advice would be if anyone even thought it was real to call HMRC first and speak to real authorities.Reply
Phoned my up about my Aviva policy and according to their records, I'm overdue for a review. The only issue is I don't have any policies with Aviva. SCAM!!!!!!!!! Don't think Aviva would be calling me on a mobile number either.

If I fail to answer once, they'll immediately try to call again. When I don't answer, I block. Then they'll ring on a slightly different number in the coming days with the same tactics.
