Got the same call today from an Indian woman called "Jennifer Janet" (like f*ck)stating I had viruses. She would fix them and also upgrade my internet service! (ha ha). I played along with her until she asked me to press certain buttons on my keyboard. I pretended to do so, and when she asked "what message is displayed", that is when I tore into her calling her a scamming Indian ****** and to f*ck off! she hung up! (boo hoo) People, don t be afraid to rip into these scammers, be as nasty as you want, swear

Caller claimed to be from Talktalk legal dept in London, despite being Birmingham number. Said they needed to connect me to their server to investigate illegal access from abroad. Tried to talk me through downloading Teamviewer and give him the ID and password! Rang off when I said I would report to police.

Automated message advised that I was suspected of tax fraud and that if I didn't press 1 I would be arrested shortly. Scammers - obviously intending to shock people into a response. Please be aware that HM Customs and Revenue would not operate in this manner.

I actually phoned Carphone Warehouse on their customer service line (0370 111 6565) and asked if they had tried to contact me today, from the number ending in 038. They confirmed to me that they HADN’T tried to get into contact with me and this number ISN’T on their system
