My elderly mother had a call from this number today, lucky I was there and answered. They claimed to be from BT saying that as she has been a long term customer they were going to give her a reduced line rental for three months and free internet access, when I asked how do I know that it is BT, they hung up, called 1471 to get the number but when you phone the number a voice tell you the number is not used

Gruff sounding guy claiming to be from Vodafone. Knew my name. I’d been chosen to receive better broadband. Didn’t sound like Vodafone customer service at all. Asked if I was the owner of property, could tell he was going to ask for my full details. Which I didn’t give. He got annoyed with me when I didn’t disclose any info. Sounded like a scam or fishing for my details.

The woman who a Scottish accent let me know they are sending out a letter containing a voucher and apologising for any inconvenience etc caused. Looking at the comments it s simply a call centre th at takes on out sourced work from various companies.
