AMAZON Authentic-sounding, recorded woman's voice claimed to be from "Amazon" advising that membership fee had been deducted from my account and gave me two options to press for follow up. Sounded suspicious so I just hung up. I called 0471 which gave me the number recorded here and then said: "Please hang up".

These jokers called me today addressing me as "Mr Steven" I said where are you calling from? He said "Nationwide" I said "Really? Well then you should know that in Britain nobody is Mr first name either just use their first name or Mr with their last name". This confused my thickly accented Indian friend greatly but I think he understood me in the end. Tried a free app called call zapper today! I m sure there s loads similar ones available too! Answer silently (you have to be somewhere quiet!) then press home button and really quickly open the app then hit the FAX button and it plays the fax tone down the line to them! Let s see if it results in my number being deleted from their database! Give it a try and post up here how you get on!! PS It s not my app or anything (!) just sharing something I hope will work! JL

I have had repeated call about 10 per day from the same number, 2 types of calls 1. as per above , that i owe money on credit cards 2. that the government has set up an scheme where they are freezing monthly interest payments on CC or store cards and if you have these cards you can just make a monthly payment to them instead . as i am a financial advisor i keep them talking for ages (appearing to be a bit non financial) after all it runs up their phone bill, then i wrap them in knots using my knowledge,

When looked up it’s not connected to any company, personally I’m not waiting for a phone a call from Manchester as I’m from a different area in the UK. Fraud - spoofed telephone number almost certainly from Indian call centre of fraudsters. Asking if you want your Amazon Prime subscription cancelled otherwise £79 will be debited from your account. You are instructed to go to your computer and press [Windows + R] key and type "anydesk" and press enter. Then you are to search Google for "anydesk". These types of call happen pretty much daily to my BT landline. It is time the telephone companies got a grip and develope
