This call was preceeded by a call to my 88 year old mother telling her that her landline was going to be cut off. She was worried of course, and I can t help thinking that a follow up call by EE to discuss broadband is suspiciously linked to frightening her into starting a dialogue with them.

Said that the latest Windows update had downloaded incorrectly meaning that people could access my computer and so could I please get my computer out for them to talk me through what to do. I've heard of this scam where they will pretend to help but really talk you through downloading something which will allow them to access your computer. I blocked the number when the call ended. This is a call from a firm called UK Pensions Review offering a free no obligation review of your pension. The call is triggered by a call centre in India and after a short chat with the agent there you get put through to a UK 'consultant' who talks more about a no obligation review of your pension with some worrying scaremongering stats. eg 4.0% AMC on your pension plans and recent reforms in pensions etc etc. There have been no significant reforms that would require a firm such as this to cold call people
