Had a call from 01497 874850. From BT Openreach regarding untrustworthy downloads from Facebook / Google. Wanted me to connect to a page on internet to check security has not been compromised. When challenged (ie no problems noticed, I would not connect to any page while on the phone - I would contact BT myself), they hung up. Obvious telemarketing / scamming.
Great service, signed me up for a franking machine £10.00 per month. I have the machine have been using for weeks saves me money and time. Thanks Lewis

Asked for Mrs XXX, based on name in phonebook. Mrs XXX doesn t exist as I, Mr XXX s wife, have never used his surname and we ve used this number for 18 years. Claimed to be from a local building firm calling about our roof. We live in a block of flats. When I challenged caller about our number being registered with TPS he got angry and eventually hung up.

Fraud - Do not answer to this number!!! They say there you are being investigated for tax evasion and there is a warrant out for your arrest and to press 1 if you don't want to be arrested. I fell for this scam from a different number before and they try push you to pay them the money you supposedly owe them. These people are NOT Inland Revenue- They are scammers!! Phoned my Dad with the same Microsoft rubbish quoting a serial number and saying that they would disable his computer, my Dad hung up but they rang straight back. He told them to go ahead and try to disable the computer but nothing happened. He asked for the guy s name and number and he said he was Peter Connor and quoted this number. Someone must be able to track down these scum, wherever in the world they are and lock them up!
