How did they get my details when this is not my phone it's paid for by somebody else 250 miles away. The mind boggles at how much scammery people think they can get away with. Just called me regarding an attempted transaction to John Lewis. Said my account was ‘under attack’ and there had been several suspicious transactions. He said he would escalate my case to Level 3 fraud, set up a new account number and sort code with a random generated name. Phoned Santander fraud department who confirmed my account was safe - the scammer then called me back ‘No Caller ID’! so I told him in no uncertain terms that he was a scamming bastard and he could go forth and multiply.

Woman said they had information that I was in a car accident that was not my fault. I asked who was calling. Ignored that and repeated accident stuff. Told her I had never been in a car accident. She hung up!

This number called me at 16h33 on Tuesday 11th April 2023. Man with heavy Indian accent claimed to be from Microsoft. Said I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service so he shouldn't call me. Hung up, but he rang again and asked why I'd hung up. I said I'd already explained why, and hung up. He phoned a third time, and in a stroppy tone asked why I'd hung up. So I hung up AGAIN. For a fourth time, he phoned again. Didn't answer, and blocked his number. Obvious nuisance.

Some oriental male purporting to be calling from o2 - "Hello, this is Adam, I'm calling from o2, how are you today?" I did not respond so there was a long pause, so I ask if he was going to continue, he put the phone down. I recently changed from o2. I've seen this with others, it would seem either o2 are selling our information to others, or potentially has staff exploiting their systems and our personal data.
