Unpleasant man by the name of Russell called from Weathershield -said calling from Ludlow. I asked why calling when our number is registered with the TPS. He said they don t have to check, TPS are supposed to do it for them! I asked for our number to be removed from their database. He became most aggressive and unpleasant saying that he would keep the number on the system and call me every day. When I rang the number back a very faint answer message announced it was Weatherproof UK Ltd.

I have nothing to do with foreign markets, customers or suppliers, so I never answer calls from the UK (+44 prefix). They call several times a day, never leaving an email/Skype message. The number kept being "busy" when at first I tried to call back. Now I m just ignoring it.

They rang, called me by name, claimed to be from Legal & General Domestic Services, said that my washing machine warranty was running out, did I want to renew it. My washing machine is over 20 years out and never had an extended warranty, also I don't have any warranties from Legal & General. When I started asking questions they hung up.

Advertising Scams. Try to get you to place ads on non existent magazines etc. Pretend to record calls so do not agree to anything. Used to use withheld numbers but now resorting to mobiles to get round call blocking.

I had a call from a woman with an Indian accent on this number purporting to be from Virgin Media, saying there were error messages coming up on my Internet connection. I told them I wasn't the account holder and asked who they wanted to speak to. They then said that they understood I was the account holder. I asked them to name the person they wanted to speak to. The line went dead at that point, funnily enough. Definitely a scam.

Automated call I get a call from this number once a day and after saying hello for about 5 seconds, an automated voice says "goodbye" and then there's the ooooooo tone. Pretty pointless. Unless they're expecting a call back. My advice is to not call back out of curiosity, it's definitely not something you'll need or want.
