SCAM. Woman with strong Asian (sounded Indian) accent purporting to be calling from Microsoft informing me of urgent high risk to my computer etc---. I hung up and on checking discovered the number to belong to A&M Todd, a flooring company in Burnley.

This is a hoax .... say they are from currys and PC world... they offer upgrade on your phone, 1 week on no new phone canceled card payment and direct debit, phoned again today soon as they heard my voice they hung up, I've been keeping the line busy for the past 2 hours .... got nothing better to do. Message arrived over WhatsApp - I guess it's now the platform of choice for scammers, as bulk SMS costs money? Suspicious "hi, hope you are doing well" received, and nothing else. I'd suggest do not reply, not even to ask "who is this?", as it's likely a scam. If it was somebody I knew, I'd expect them to use my name and/or identify themselves if they can see we haven't communicated before.

This is a scam caller, pretending to be from O2. - They tell you that they have sent two texts and can they have the code. When you read the texts they are from O2. It says that if someone calls and asks for this code THEY DO NOT WORK FOR O2. Avoid at all costs.
