Anon, Myrtle s comment is correct at that date. It is, or was, a technical help number for out of warranty BT phones. Bit cheeky of them to use a premium rate number, though.

SCAM Claimed to be from Amazon regarding the renewal of our Amazon Prime subscription. Advised to "press 1 to cancel". Suspect this was fishing for our bank account number details. The call was soon followed by another from '01420 226 637'. The 'bot' hung-up when I answered, but did not say anything.
Automated call rang several times before 9am on a Saturday morning. Wouldn’t leave message they didn’t answer then left automated message stating stay on the line.

Spoke to "Dave" and to "John" who had so strong Indian accents, I think, and the background chatter in what was obviously a call centre that it was very hard to understand them. Both assured me that they were not selling anything but asked lots of personal questions. Couldn t answer any of my questions other than they got my name and address from UK publically available database.

They called at 7am and said I committed tax fraud and that there was a warrant out for my arrest. I’m not old enough to be able to do taxes so fake call.

Recorded message received today stating that unauthorised payment of £500 taken from my debit card and sent abroad. Received a text from this mobile number claiming to be First Direct Bank, with a link. Apparently my account has been suspended, tap link to verify activity. I am not with First Direct and why would a bank be texting anybody? These texts with links are designed to trick us into installing scamming software on our phones. Please do not tap on these links. Go to your bank through the normal method to check.
