After two local locksmiths quoted £250-300 for work done inc. emergency call out fee. Please report them to trading standards as did not pressure to do work but exploited his desperateness to get back home.

I know the university does fundraising drives amongst alumni but these calls stress not just a nuisance but very intrusive. I understand the Uni says it wants to improve the lot of students but given the vast fees students have to pay that really do not equate to what they are provided with, I think it's a joke, not to say insulting, chasing alumni for money in this devious manner. Every couple of days the Green Deals Advice Line leaves a message. Today I called them back, told them we were with TPS and asked them to stop. The loser on the other end just hung up on me. When I 1471 d him the number that came up was 01313324913.
Never answered as I was driving. Don’t tend to answer call who’s number I don’t know.

SCAM Sent SMS including a link. Said I had missing census information and not updating this may result in £1000 fine. Said for me to click the link to update information to avoid having to pay any fines in future. I clicked the link but phone detected the link as unsafe and sent me a full red screen reading: “DECEPTIVE WEBSITE DETECTED” and gave me a choice to proceed or to go back to previous page. Don’t be fooled like I was! You may not be so lucky as to dodge the negative consequences like I was!

SCAM / SPAM claiming to be HMRC, threatening court action.
Fraud Called me at 8am and a robotic voice asked me to press one to be connected to an HMRC operative or else I would be arrested imminently. HMRC apparently do not ring up using automated voice technology, do not phone up to threaten arrest and are generally not phoning people unannounced at that time of day.

I got a text from what looked like my bank (Santander), saying a lot of money was being taken from my account. It gave this number 03333443057 to call. I called, and they answered HSBC ! I said I thought I was calling Santander, they said I work for both banks (yeah, right!). I said let me have your name and department, I ll call my bank and ask to be put through to you, at which point they promptly hung up.
SCAM. Insurance claim related scam. Claiming to be on behalf of Aviva. Rang from a similar number that I had blocked previously. Rang on Christmas Day on a special number that I have that noone knows about outside a small circle of family members (hence my answering thinking it was a Scottish family member - Glasgow number), so they must be getting number to call from EE direct as they asked for me by name. I was called from this number and the caller was very insistent / pushy about the fact that I MUST be owed PPI compensation otherwise they would not be calling. They required bank / credit card details and when I said I had already received compensation from my bank, the call was terminated by them without explanation.
