As stated by Max above - The caller said he was calling from British Gas and said they have had technical issues and they need my electricity meter numbers. I work in the energy industry and I am aware they can access this via the national electricity database (ECOES) - as my supplier they are fully entitled to use this. I challenged him and he continued to give excuses. I then terminated the call.

SCAM This is a call centre saying it is a courtesy call due to an appliances warrantee expiring, on this instance it was a washing machine, so quite believable. They wanted £65 per year for another 3 years full cover. I blocked this number on my phone only to get called by a very similar number a little while later, its outrageous how personal information is given freely between organisations.

These lowlifes keep harassing my 86-year-old mum - who is registered with the TPS by the way. I ve already blocked them twice, but they just pop up on a new number. They ve probably done the math - any leads they may get probably offset the fine, so they just carry on. Perhaps their director needs a personal visit from a tradesperson with some tools.
