Said he was from an IT company that I had used recently, when I asked where he got my number from overrode my questions saying he had got it from a database and continued saying I had used one of there services recently. Told him my number was on TPF and he replied not interested and it didn t concern him what I was on. Sounds like fraud. A robot tells me (without naming a bank) that my debit card has been used to pay £600 overseas. I checked all my various cards and no such payment as happened.

At 8.20am I answered my land line thinking it must be important and was a local number. It was a automated message saying ‘thank you for your payment of £299 for anti virus, if any problems please call our free phone number’ The number I’m afraid I didn’t get and it didn’t say any company either. I’m sure this is a scam of some sort that they catch you when you call to complain so very much aimed at the trusting, naive or elderly.
