Automated call ... Apparently my national insurance has been compromised, didn't hang around long enough to find out how... the thing that puzzles me is how the callers have gotten hold of so many UK mobile telephone numbers which these scam phone calls come from... its only a few digits different from my own telephone number... discombobulating!!

Scam call related to computer security software. They refuse to identify themselves, or give a Company name. Asian accent if you press the initial caller [Usually female] transfers you to a male colleague who is extremely aggressive and threatening. Ignore and immediately block the number.

This number rang giving advice on accidents, i am assuming that my personal number was given through some sort of data-base as they rang home address too just tell them your not intrested and hang up thats it. If the company calls again just answer and say you have a company dealing with accident, if you choose to ignore it will ring ring ring and ring.

Seems to be used for some really wide-scope telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 118328xxxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with very sophisticated robocalls, sometimes classical RTA - ''you have been in a car accident'', sometimes Microsoft support - general computer support, in most cases unsolicited. just received a letter from the DWP requesting bank details so they can pay my pension into it instead of the post office.if this is a scam, it's a b****y clever, very convincing one. it was accompanied by a letter in the same post from the post office telling me I could close my card account with them free of penalty, though it's not the type of a/c that incurs penalties. the letter even quotes my national insurance number at the top. very clever of two big organisations to hit the same postal delivery tog

An Asian sounding woman claimed she was from BT and was she speaking to the person who pays the bills etc. I said no, but my husband would be home at 6.30pm so call back. The woman immediately said that it was important information she had that our computer has been hacked and this could be dangerous. I said no thanks and put the phone down. Considering I don't have a computer I can only assume this was a dangerous scam for others to watch out for.

Text says it is re-verifying phone# from this device learn more at goo.gl(followed by numbers in the link etc) so I've blocked it. Not had anything like and I don't know why google would want to verify my android. Believe it to be scam as others have said below.
