Called saying they were HSBC and wanted to check a transaction on my account Asked me to confirm my date of birth but I told them I would ring back Called the bank on another number and they checked my account there were no issues flagged Therefore a phishing call however this person seemed to know my name and date of birth

All reported here. ANYONE got any suggestions please?

Just had a call from this number saying they were from National Accident Line. Definite scam. They were asking about an accident I had a few months ago and that I was due compensation. I strung them along. "Glad you called, I went through all the details with your colleagues weeks ago. They said I was due £8k in compensation'. 'Sir this is the 1st time I've called you.' Called me 6 times in the past 3 weeks. I have missed all the calls as they happened when I am working. They have never left me a message which makes me assume either dodgy or cold calling. After reading other people's comments below I have blocked the number - if it is green peace as some suggest then I have no idea how they have got my number. I have never donated to Greenpeace however I may well have signed petitions but I don't think you usually give out your phone number when you sign a petition

SPAM call - DO NOT ANSWER, trying to sell home maintence - when challenged about where they obtained my number, the call operator refused to provide details of the company they worked for and became very rude!!
I received a call from somebody claiming to be from SSE. He wanted to talk about a new contract. He didn’t specify whether it was gas or electricity. I asked him to send your new prices by email. He seemed upset by this very simple request stating that it was impossible. I told him to call back when he had sent the email. He rang from this number 2 days later and came out with the same nonsense. He said he was Roger. I hung up and complained to SSE.
