SCAM:Indian sounding man asked for me by name, had my address & post code. Asked where he had got this info., and that it was all total rubbish. He said that my washing machine warranty had run out. I told him he didn’t know what washing machine I have and I don’t have a warranty on it anyway. He then changed tack and tried flattery, saying that I had a lovely face. Had a few calls on my mobile but no messages left, cold call I presume!
They phoned twice Fri 10/10/14. First call I answered but the line was dead i.e. Silent call. Second time I ignored in then 1471 said it was 01702 318818. Like "fed up" below when I rang it was a short message saying they were Independent Market Research then the call was cut off. Complained to FCO but they say there is nothing they can do at the moment.
I suspect that the call is from a company called ‘Easy Life’. I receive unsolicited calls from them two or three times a year. Harmless enough, just irritating.

Rang my mobile for a few seconds. Managed to answer but it hung up. Rang back the number and it sounds engaged.
Showed up as international call and the voice was a transatlantic male one. He sounded like a recording even though he wasn't, and was very slick - when I corrected him for addressing me by my husband's name he said he was 'a little dyslexic' to try to wrong-foot me. He tried to tell me about a door and window replacement scheme. As he knew my address I asked him to write to me about it - of course he won't!
