Likely SCAM. Woman with strong Indian accent saying she was from O2. I asked her to confirm my address and she hung up.

SCAM - poor impersonation of my mobile provider (they think they know who your provider is based on the first few digits of your mobile number)

This number, an automated woman's voice, called my landline today and purported to be the bank saying that they're checking a £600 payment from my bank account to somewhere abroad. As my bank say they'd never phone me for details such as this caller was asking I suspected a scam and put the phone down straightaway. SCAM

Claiming they call from HMRC with a court case against your name. After started asking questions about some proof they work for HMRC, they started panicking and said I can look up the case on the website of UK's Supreme Court. Plot twist - there is no Supreme Court in the UK.

Scam caller claiming to be from Virgin. The call was made by an official sounding call centre (the woman sounded Indian). She claimed that there has been suspicious activity from unknown IP addresses using my account and that it was being used for criminal activity and that she needed to help me protect my firewalls etc. I immediately became suspicious as I'd heard of such calls being made and told her that I'd call Virgin directly to resolve any issues. I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Re The failed bank payment, the bank itself stopped this money and when I spoke to my bank it was decided that the £149 seemed high for an anti viral program and there was a possibility of fraud. "Click 1 if you've authorised these transactions, or 2 to speak to our fraud advisor", or similar message. I put the phone down.

Fraud call purporting to be from Visa payment of £900 second time this week blocked but be recalled on another number

Scam and/or phishing attempt. It attempted to get me to message the phone number via WhatsApp. The person had sent an SMS from another number (07566706069) claiming to have dropped their phone down the toilet and that they’d instantly acquired a new phone. They asked me to message specifically via WhatsApp (???). This is the fourth message I’ve had this week, from a variety of unknowns, being asked to message a new number by someone claiming to have lost/damaged their phone.

Very strange phone call from this number. I am very suspicious. Proceed with caution.
