Wasn't sure if it was genuine so rang Halifax. They asked me some questions and said the call was genuine, also he was very helpful. If in doubt call your local branch.

I was called by someone purporting to be from the Times subscription service. They wanted to update my debit card over the phone as the website was not working. I refused to give details, as always advised by the banks. Checked the website and it was working fine.
