After a bit of sleuthing I ve found out that this number belongs to Verso Group, a telemarketing company. You can request to have your number removed from their database via [email?protected] or by calling their customer complaints team on 01582 763 090.

Abusive call from this number

As previous comments, won a prize. I have read on other sites that even pressing button to opt out can incur charges. Don t know if this is the case with this number. Just add to auto-reject.

Money supermarket insurance unsolicited call - avoid.

An automatic message claiming to be from HMRC, saying that if I didn t press 1 then I would be arrested as there were proceedings against me.

Received call 1 pm 29/05/20. "I understand you ve been involved in a road accident which wasn t your fault." I put the phone down.

Called asking for information on my recent accident,when I asked who had informed them she said she would remove my number from there data base ,and then hung up .

These jokers called me today addressing me as "Mr Steven" I said where are you calling from? He said "Nationwide" I said "Really? Well then you should know that in Britain nobody is Mr first name either just use their first name or Mr with their last name". This confused my thickly accented Indian friend greatly but I think he understood me in the end. I am sick to death of these nuisance calls

The following steps are suggested:

I have had repeated call about 10 per day from the same number, 2 types of calls 1. as per above , that i owe money on credit cards 2. that the government has set up an scheme where they are freezing monthly interest payments on CC or store cards and if you have these cards you can just make a monthly payment to them instead . as i am a financial advisor i keep them talking for ages (appearing to be a bit non financial) after all it runs up their phone bill, then i wrap them in knots using my knowledge,
