Also, I just tried phoning the number back and it doesn't even exist - so somehow the scammer is making out that they are phoning from a local number to look more legit.

SCAM Amazon An order for £ 600 (or something similar ) has been placed on your account. If you don't recognise it, press 1 to talk to an advisor. I don't have an Amazon account & I doubt that Amazon has an office in Burton on Trent!!
Apparently the TPS web server is down, so they had to contact me by phone and not email. This is the 2nd similar call today. My TPS registration will expire tomorrow. Do not believe them, as TPS *never* phone customers!!

I said hello, they waited a good 3 seconds before playing an automated message saying they were from the national crime agency. I hung up at this point as the NCA will always be a person on the other end.

They will say you have outstanding tax due and try and get a payment from you over the phone.. they will even send emails with fake letters from the revenue to back there case. These are scammers.....
