I wish they would leave a voicemail message when they ring. I just missed their call and as there was no message I assumed it was a scam call. we get a lot and would never ring the number back unless there was a message left saying who it was and why they were ringing. but I would ring 150 from the landline if I'd known it was virgin regarding my problem. only trouble is that you can be waiting for over an hour before you get an answer! not happy with virgin at all.
HSBC pretty sure its a scam as I don't bank with HSBC and recied a text stating funds had tried to be accessed by and unknown source

Maybe Asian call centre? The number was found by dialling 1471 and the call time and date were accurate Nov.30 @ 11:13a.m..

This claims to be from Facebook but it was just a number and the location is Manchester/Burnley - this is not how FB normally sends 2 Factor ID. Is it a scam number?

Namely it solicits the person receiving the call to press 1 on their phones to seek help in avoiding Internet cut off within a timeslot of 4hrs usually. Needless to say there is no real problem pending and by pressing 1 the unwary may be frightened into giving bank details eg to pay delivery charge for new router. PLEASE HANG UP. Internet claiming to be from BT open reach telling me I have an issue with my internet. Had a very strong accent, so I apologised and said I couldnt understand her very well so I would call BT immediately to find out what the issue was. She didnt have any response to this, will note as annoying as no idea if it would have been a dangerous scam had I not hung up, but as she was telling me to check my router then come back & they would 'fix it' I would assume this is where it was heading!!!

SCAM - pretends to be from Microsoft saying computer has downloaded malicious software. Gets recipient to go to PC. Identifies PC/Mac by asking to describe keyboard. For mac uses Spotlight to launch console - didn’t run with it any further. Caller does know the name accociated with the phone number. Caller has strong asian accent with a regular uk name.
