I received a call from this unknown number and did not answer. Dialled the number back and got "The number you have dialled has not been recognised"

Irish lad said he was calling about my frozen pension. i played along and made up stuff about a fictitious pension which he VERIFIED. When said I was just digging out the file to get the pension reference number he hung up, l am a pension administrator so can baffle them with terminology. Proves these calls are a scam.

This number has called a number of times in the last two weeks. When answered, it is an automated voice purporting to be BT, which states that our internet will be disconnected today and offering two return call options which I am fairly sure are cost traps. We don t have BT internet. On hanging up, I called the number back and it rang but was not answered.

At first I got quite scared when I started getting these calls. I have read a lot about telephone scams where they want to extract your financial data (Net banking PIN, Credit card details etc.) in the name of survey. For this reason I started declining calls from this number. Searching for the owner of this number on the web, I found out that this number belongs to a legitimate lead generation and lifestyle survey company named Simply Outbound. missed call when i rang it back line just goes beep then cuts off. Bad sign - trustworthy companies have a recorded message explaining who they are, etc. Did a bit of research - very worrying. consumer websites show people being asked for their bank card details then fees being debited that they werent expecting. Sounds like a scam or at least very, very sharp practise. Avoid answering or block number, is my advice.
