Just had a call much the same as all above - the Indian sounding caller only new my name and number and would not answer any of my questions and I certainly gave no information to him I live in Hampshire so immediately called Hampshire police on 101 who said contact Action Fraud on 0300 1232040 (www.actionfraud.police.uk) who asked that I report it to Insurance Fraud on 0800 4220421 - which I did

An aggressive and persistent man called Solomon cold called and said he had information that we were paying too much for our phone and got quite angry and indignant when I said I was reluctant to swap from BT to National Business. I hung up and wish I hadn t bothered to listen in the first place.

They just phoned my elderly father-in-law on his land line and luckily my husband had just arrived at the house when they phoned. They told him that they were the National Crime Agency and that there had been fraud on his bank account. SCAM - Claimed it was the National Crime Agency looking into fraudulant activity on my NI number, with the threat that HMRC would block it. Have checked with HMRC. It is a scam. Am assuming the phone number was faked in some way, as it's surprisingly close to my own.
