Obvious call centre noise background noise as soon as I answered, with a delay before anyone responded. The caller had an extremely strong Asian/Indian accent and told me his name was Paul Simon (yeah, right!) calling from Norfolk County Council about a recent accident I d had. My mother-in-law has just found a charge for ?99.99 on her Barclays statement. I ve just spoken to the bank and they have been 100% helpful and have agreed to refund her ASAP. When mum-in-law initialy went into the bank to query the transaction they told her that it was a holiday company and assisted her to call them. The company told her that they take the view that unless you specifically say otherwise they assume that you want thier services, even though the in-laws had no knowledge of the company. T

Surely to goodness someone, somewhere, has got to put a stop to this. Who is paying for all these claims? Us, in our high insurance costs of course. It is pissing me off, big time. Stop phoning me - I was not hurt, but it is getting to the point where perhaps I should claim just to stop these calls. Two bleeding years I have been fending off these damned nuisance calls.

Got this call today, pension, under 60, £1,000 blad blad blad, total scam and I just hung up, checked the map where the call might come from and it shows a street called Lloyd St. in Manchester, near, in or beside a pub called the Old nags head.

I have no idea who called me. It rang once. I picked up the phone and the caller was gone. I do not know if this is nuisance call, scam or a mistake. My number and all other ones are recycled. It could be a mistake.
