An automated message comes up saying the call is from HM Revenue & Customs, gives you a case file number, and says if you ignore the call, you will face legal applications. Then asks you to press 1 to speak to an adviser. The advisor distantly says she is calling from the HMRC and asks for your name. When I asked her where are you calling from again, she hung up.

Do not give them your DOB or any other details, apparently it may be a scammer watch out. 012 5555 4810 rings me regularly and keeps hanging up, they don’t leave a voicemail either. I no longer answer the landline phone, I wait till calls go into voicemail. I have told friends and family to leave a message and I will pick-up the phone as soon as I recognise the caller or the reason for the call or I will call back. OFCOM, phone operators and authorities should be doing something about these nuisance calls, there is no excuses period, especially with increases of SPAMs and Fraud. What is the poin

SCAM This is some kind of mobile phone marketing operation and is probably a scam.They're using numbers harvested online and claiming to be in possession of some (entirely fictitious) Covid-19 funding, supposedly to specifically reduce phone bills for companies.It is probably advisable not to venture any private or financial information to these people and indeed best to just hang up.
