Called yesterday said they were calling about a car accident. They had my full name. WE DO NOT HAVE A CAR.
A very friendly guy called me saying he was from Greenpeace after I had signed a Greenpeace petition. He sounded very informative and believable and after a friendly chat he asked me to donate a small amount to Greenpaece. I said I would, and then he started asking me for my bank details so that he could set up a monthly direct debit for me to donate £10 per month. I said I woulld not give details over the phone but he still insisted that I could. I stopped at that point & put down the phone.

Has regularly called each day for some weeks but never leaves a voicemail. I never take 08 calls as I feel they re notorious for belonging to folks looking to do some sort of business or wanting to make money from me in some way - I shall be the one to choose who I engage and intend to pay for ANY service, and not the person who happens to come across my number somehow. This is the second call in as many days from what appears to be a valid UK phone number but is most likely a cold caller masking their own number/ID and falsely making the call look like it's a UK number. I rang back the 'UK' number that phoned us the day before and it was a private individual living in Worcestershire. Neither she nor her husband had made the call. The Call Guardian phone has been worth its weight in gold as it deters 99% of cold callers - those that announce their names are then blocked

This is a genuine Santander Fraud Department number. However I suggest you always call your bank using the number on the back of your Debit/Credit Card to check. This what I did and it was confirmed my Debit Card was being used by criminals, so needed cancelling and replacing.
