Harassing calls - I never answer. If, when I compare insurance quotes, they are up there with the top competitors they might have a chance of my business. Not constant unsolicited calls.

We got a call from this number at 2.20am which woke us up with a fright. Recorded message saying ‘Can you hear me?’ And no response when sleepily replied. Really annoying - couldn’t get back to sleep afterwards for hours. No idea what the purpose of it was.

Seems like an Indian call centre, have had a few missed calls from several number over the passed few days which I have blocked. They left a 20 second voicemail by mistake with them talking in Indian and laughing before realising that she was on voicemail and hung up. No company name offered, wouldn’t trust regardless. Message left was incomplete. Robotic voice said “bank account. So enjoy using Amazon Prime Services or to unsubscribe from service speak to our Amazon Service Manager, press and 1.” I would not trust the fact that it is a mobile number, incomplete robotic Amazon message, etc. but cannot be certain.
Claimed to be Amazon, saying I’d bought a gift card for £49.99 and they wanted to check this was correct, and if it wasn’t did I want to cancel the order. I said it wasn’t me and I’d like to cancel (but was already suspicious - who buys a gift card for £49.99, rather than £50?!), then they started asking about which device I’d like the refund processed via. When I asked more questions about my concerns that this was a scam call they hung up.

This is probably a cloned number claiming to be British Gas. Almost certainly a scam. If you ring it, the menu does not give an option to speak to an advisor. Tell them in your best Anglo-Saxon to go forth and multiply. If the calls persist then call Action Fraud.

This information is incorrect. The network is tesco and the location is Plymouth

My husband passed the call to me as it related to my washing machine insurance renewal so I did not hear any name or how the call started. He did rather a hard (and fast) sell with a reduced annual figure but taking 3 years immediately. He seemed to have details of my current annual figure. I checked with D&G who deal with the insurance and they did not recognise the phone number as belonging to anyone working for them.
