Automated voice message claiming to be HMRC. Suspect scam
Fraud Called me at 8am and a robotic voice asked me to press one to be connected to an HMRC operative or else I would be arrested imminently. HMRC apparently do not ring up using automated voice technology, do not phone up to threaten arrest and are generally not phoning people unannounced at that time of day.

I got a text from what looked like my bank (Santander), saying a lot of money was being taken from my account. It gave this number 03333443057 to call. I called, and they answered HSBC ! I said I thought I was calling Santander, they said I work for both banks (yeah, right!). I said let me have your name and department, I ll call my bank and ask to be put through to you, at which point they promptly hung up.
Seems like an employment agency ???
Claimed to be from nationwide, hung up on me when I wouldn t tell him my post code.

Called both my landline and my mobile on a Sunday evening. Clearly a Birmingham number. I know the university does fundraising drives amongst alumni but these calls stress not just a nuisance but very intrusive. I understand the Uni says it wants to improve the lot of students but given the vast fees students have to pay that really do not equate to what they are provided with, I think it's a joke, not to say insulting, chasing alumni for money in this devious manner. Every couple of days the Green Deals Advice Line leaves a message. Today I called them back, told them we were with TPS and asked them to stop. The loser on the other end just hung up on me. When I 1471 d him the number that came up was 01313324913.

SImilar number to other scam calls had recently where they say they are an energy company-capitlising on the recent news. Said he was an energy something in my area. Yeah right. Like Bournemouth is my area. Guy didnt even stutter when I answered the call as Sperm Bank. Said no thanks and hung up immediately. Blocked the number.

Clear scam. Do not answer. Claim to be VISA checking if a £600 online purchase is valid. Asks you to press 1 to talk to an adviser. Not sure what would happen if you pressed 1 but it would not be good. Same automated call received earlier in the day from a totally different number.
