Got a text from that number at 14:28 today stating: "Hey mum I've smashed my phone, please message me on this number 447706598765 urgently x I'm texting of a friends phone". I checked with my child and they said they never contacted me, therefore this must be a scam.

Paid number. Received a voicemail from a woman speaking a foreign language that I do not speak after not answering. The voicemail was the same as one I received from a different paid number. Pretty sure that this is a scam (I have no reason to receive so many similar calls from different numbers), either one which expects you to call back in confusion so you can be charged or one that will try to scam you if you do pick it up.

Glad I ignored it as the first few calls only my children had my number so it was not anyone or business I knew. PPI/Bank Charges claim company. Latest one is Endowment Policies. Aside from just hanging up, I find the best course of action with these guys is to just lie to them. Give them made-up details so they waste their time with fruitless nonsense. Tell them you paid PPI on a Swiss bank account with ?10m in funds given to you by a Nigerian prince. Keep calm and tell absurd lies, and this kind of call actually starts to be a lot of fun!
