When asked he said he was from the UK Advisory Information Centre and they ran the Renewable Energy Database where my details had come from. When asked he said he was based in central London. English sounding girl calling from she claimed to be Britains biggest Domestic Insurance company. She put the phone down immediately after I said "Excuse me, who are you?". She knew my name which surprised me. And I say "But, ..." and she put the phone down. No UK Insurance company will cold call you or put the phone down.

Called me today and the one time I think its from a family member I answer, said they were from my Credit card company (Got the name correct aswell and had my own name too!!!) the asked if it was a good time to talk, I replied for the moment yes....then she hung up!! number appears from Hartlepool area, called back...not my CC company!
SCAM - Called and hung up as soon I said hello. Probably a robocall checking to see if the number is viable given I have received several scam calls in the past few days and immediately hang up on them.
Indian callers are using this number to scam people - acting as BT officials and urging the people they call to switch on their computers so they can either fix your internet connection or help you get rid of a virus. Being extremely PC-savvy, I challenged the caller, at which point they disconnected the call.

Man with foreign accent called from this number claiming to be from Citizens Advice Bureau with regards to unsecured debts. I suspected that it was a scam call & going by the comments of others here I would appear to have been correct.
