This is a PPI scam. Best to listen politely and show interest before requesting that they ring you back on another number. Then give them the number of another known scammer and they should keep one another amused for a while. Suggested numbers of known scammers:- 01935 350190 and 01379 844163. Both these numbers have repeatedly rung me recently.

Surely to goodness someone, somewhere, has got to put a stop to this. Who is paying for all these claims? Us, in our high insurance costs of course. It is pissing me off, big time. I keep receiving calls from this number despite blocking it - they sometimes phone up to five times a day! They always ask for Andrew, the idiot who must have mistyped his mobile number when downloading a report or who knows what from this "financial" crowd. I ve asked them politely to remove my number from their database ... to no avail. I ve said I m going to report them to the police if they keep calling me, which usually makes them put down the phone if I don t beat them to it!
