They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with EE, but they ask for your credit card or account details, this is a scam call... Block the number.

Caller pretending to be from HMRC. Claims a lawsuit is filed against the caller for tax evasion. This is a current (Jan 2021) scam that targets the elderly and vulnerable and is known to HMRC. Number is non-existent when one tries to call back

This company calls me persistently, today I have had 3 calls, even though their number is blocked on my mobile and their calls are instantly disconnected. This leads me to believe they are using some automated calling app. I don t believe they are based in UK but are using UK numbers to give that impression.

Harringtons Advisory ltd. This company is now under investigation. they use multiple names and numbers. Inwood House, 5 Castlecroft Road, Bury, Manchester. Their main phone number 0161 764 3020. report them to Claims Management Regulator.
Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. I recommend to block the whole 8435687xxx range... Did someone answer any number of this range?

Said he was from Microsoft and asked if I was ------- which I am but I said no he moved a year ago. He then asked who I was, I said I wasn t telling him then he said there was trouble with my computer, I said I I don t have one, he again asked who I was and was getting more aggressive because I wouldn t tell him. Put the phone down on him in the end.
