Asian Guy (David) calling from Windows Technical about my computer. Apparently something wrong with my computer so need to turn it on so they could sort it out. I asked them to tell me what my computer IP address is - which obviously they can t tell me because they don t know who they are speaking to. IT IS A SCAM - THEY WANT A ONE OFF, LIFETIME PAYMENT. Caller s English not brilliant. I had trouble understanding her (and vice versa). Wanted to send out a ?50 Tesco or Waitrose voucher to me once she confirmed my name and address. Told her I don t give details over the phone to people I don t know. She rang off.

SCAM. Insurance claim related scam. Claiming to be on behalf of Aviva. Rang from a similar number that I had blocked previously. Rang on Christmas Day on a special number that I have that noone knows about outside a small circle of family members (hence my answering thinking it was a Scottish family member - Glasgow number), so they must be getting number to call from EE direct as they asked for me by name. Worrying.
Scammers saying they are HMRC and going to arrest you. They are not its a SCAM.

This number called with message about "every house needs to be done by 2016" plus "we are in your area" last week - some solar panel scam. Didn t answer - the message is recorded on my answerphone. Same message from 01316483485 yesterday - same result. This lot have probably rented fake numbers from a major phone company which offers them on its web site. Some firms offer call centres numbers which give the person called the idea that it is a local call.
Three calls today. Two yesterday. Marketing people. Very persistent.

I always receive most unknown telephone calls altogether over a 24 hour period and then get nothing for 1-2 weeks. No idea who it is and I know nobody from the area (0151 = Liverpool/Merseyside). They rang, I answered, they hung up.
