I answered the phone and was about to hang up after a long silence when an Asian lady asked to speak to me. When I asked her what she wanted, she replied that she wanted me to stop speaking. What a cheek! as I did not ask to be called by pests on a Friday evening and would prefer not be called again.

Some person called to say I had a completed a survey "via the national newspapers", apparently for a competition (the winner of which is to be announced some time later). They "just wanted to check the details you provided are correct". Told them they would be if I typed them in. They still kept going until I told them I was at work and asked them to send an email.
